In 1995, the German Association for Water Research (DVWK) and the ministries of the environment in the states of Hessen and Rheinland-Pfalz founded the Non-profit Organization for Education for Training in Water Management and Landscape Development (GFG). This organisation bears the responsibility for the organisation of training events on natural water management in the federal states of Hessen and Rheinland-Pfalz. QLA - a quality assurance system for the agricultural utilisation of sewage sludge
The QLA or VDLUFA-QLA GmbH is a quality assurance system developed for organic waste that is suitable for use as a fertiliser in agriculture. The following text will give a short description of the situation in Germany concerning the use of sewage sludge as a fertilizer and will then introduce the QLA quality assurance system for sewage sludge concluding with a short outlook.
