Learning Goals
Participants will be able to identify operational problems of municipal wastewater treatment plants and derive effective counter measures by a systematic trouble shooting.
MODULE A:
Aspects of operational problems of municipal WWTPs
- Participants can characterize different causes of operational problems (internal / external), understand the impact of the planning and engineering process on operation and the importance of reliable and plausible sampling and analysis
MODULE B:
Systematic action for Activated sludge systems
- Participants understand common operational problems of the biological stage depending on the specific treatment goal and learn methodical troubleshooting and selection of effective countermeasures.
MODULE C:
Systematic action for Sludge settling and Disinfection
- Participants understand common operational problems of the secondary clarifier (settling) and learn methodical troubleshooting and selection of effective countermeasures.
MODULE D:
Systematic action for Sludge Treatment and Digestion
- Participants understand common operational problems of the sludge treatment stages (including anaerobic digestion) and learn methodical troubleshooting and selection of effective countermeasures.
