German-Russian cooperation extended
Specialist book “Industrieabwasserbehandlung” [Industrial wastewater treatment] translated
Hennef. German water management know-how is now available to Russian water managers in Russian. With the release of the license for the Russian translation of the specialist book “Industrieabwasserbehandlung” [Industrial wastewater treatment], the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) enables Russian engineers to find out about the German standards and the German state of water management knowledge in their own language. The specialist book is designed as a practical guide. It covers all the essential aspects of industrial wastewater treatment.
All aspects covered: law, technology, environmental protection
The specialist book presents the legal framework in Germany and in the European Union. It also provides information on planning principles for environmental protection. Mechanical-physical, chemical-physical and biological processes for wastewater treatment are illustrated. Examples of industrial wastewater treatment from various industries round off the package.
Vodokanal St. Petersburg carried out the translation
The specialist book was officially presented in May 2012 at the IFAT ENTSORGA in Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for the water, wastewater, waste and resource management industry. The Russian utility and waste disposal company Vodokanal St. Petersburg had the specialist book translated. The project was initiated by Hamburg
Wasser, which has a long-standing cooperation with Vodokanal St. Petersburg.
The original German version of the specialist book was created in 2007 in collaboration between the Bauhaus University Weimar and the DWA. The basis for the translation is the 2nd revised edition of 2009, to which the Institute for Sanitary Engineering and Waste Management of the University of Hannover also contributed.
