Learning Goals

  • Participants assess the interaction of relevant influencing variables (effluent requirement / monitoring method / safety requirement / quality of input data / technical rules) for different design approaches of wastewater treatment plants.
  • Participants understand the process engineering principles of the above-mentioned treatment stage and know the design procedure according to the relevant DWA standards A 131, A 198) in addition to DWA topic volume T4/2016
  • Participants can evaluate the suitability of various regulations for the design of wastewater treatment plants in a national context

Topics

  • Planning principles for the design of municipal wastewater treatment plants
  • Integration of the „aeration“ process stage into the material flows of the entire treatment process
  • Process engineering principles and dimensioning of the „aeration“ process stage according to DWA regulations
  • Practice / exercise on aeration with exemplary application of the DWA regulations
  • Discussion
