Learning Goals
The overall aim of the training is to enable participants to understand the differences between German and national standards for the design of activated sludge processes and to apply these in a national context to optimise planning and operation.
MODULE A:
Planning principles and influencing variables for the design of municipal wastewater treatment plants
- Participants assess the interaction of relevant influencing variables for different design approaches of wastewater treatment plants.
- E.g. effluent requirement
- monitoring method
- safety requirement quality of input data / technical rules.
MODULE B:
Design of process stages for activated sludge treatment according to relevant technical standards
- Participants understand the process engineering principles of wastewater treatment stages and know the design procedure according to the relevant DWA-Standards A 131 and A 198 in addition to DWA topic volume T4/2016
MODULE C:
Suitability of regulations and standards in a national context
- Participants can evaluate the suitability of various regulations for the design of wastewater treatment plants in a national context
