DWA Activities at the IFAT ENTSORGA

Hennef. The German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) will be represented with a diversified programme of events at the 17th IFAT ENTSORGA, the leading specialist trade fair of the water, wastewater waste and raw material industries, in Munich from 07 to 11 May 2012.

 

The emphasis of the products on offer, which in part are presented with cooperation partners, are the Local Authorities Day, the 16^th International Symposium, the 11th Young Water Professionals’ Programme, the Water industry Innovation Forum, the Aqua Urbanica and the Forum of the Central Coordinating Office of the Federal States Consultants (ZKS-Berater). UN Water – a programme which organises the activities of various UN organisations on the subject of water – is represented with two of their own event blocks. The Arabic Specialist Association ACWUA is on hand with current subjects for Arabic specialist visitors and exhibitors. In addition, there will be presentations organized by the DWA on the subject of irrigation and sewer construction.

 

Other DWA Activities at the Trade Fair

 

In the margins of the IFAT ENTSORGA the DWA is issuing an invitation to the 1st Open Championship in Wastewater Engineering. Trainees and professionals are to compete in the disciplines “Work in the sewer system”, “Work in the traffic area” as well as “Control of wastewater treatment plants”. The professional competition is to illustrate to the visitors to the trade fair the necessity of good working and health protection as well as a certified training.

 

Within the general programme the DWA offers a visit to one of the most modern wastewater treatment works in Europe, the Gut Marienhof works. In addition, sewer construction sites will be visited in order to provide information on different methods and techniques of damage rectification (rehabilitation).

 

Along with the events the DWA is represented at the IFAT ENTSORGA with two trade fair stands: the firms’ stand in Hall A5 at which the DWA, together with DWA member companies, are introduced as well as the association stand in the West Entrance, at which the European Water Association (EWA,) together with the DWA introduce national and international water and wastewater associations.
