Irrigation and Water Recycling

DWA Subject focal points at the IFAT ENTSORGA

Hennef. With irrigation in Germany and water recycling in agriculture the various presentations, which can be heard within the framework of the IFAT ENTSORGA, the world’s leading trade fair of the water, wastewater, waste and raw materials industries, on 10th May 2012 in Munich and are organised by the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA).

 

The first presentation block illuminates the area of conflict between agriculture and alternative energy production. It addresses the significance of biomass within the energy industry environment, the social and political acceptance of sprinkler irrigation as well as technologies and the economy of irrigation methods.

 

The second presentation block pursues the question of whether the recycling of water is sensible only in arid and semi-arid areas. Quality criteria and areas of application as well as technologies and stages of wastewater processing are presented. In addition, the so-called “Braunschweiger Model”, with the agricultural utilisation of clarified water and quality-assured sewage sludge, is presented.

 

All contributions are translated simultaneously between German and English.
